HOT TOY {Packaging & Identity Design}

Children's toy packaging has remained the same for too long with very few developments in packaging and longevity in their usability.
The toy industry remains quite unsustainable with new collections coming in & old collections becoming boring at a very rapid pace.

As a niche that relies highly on trends, it unconsciously encourages over-consumerism in young minds under the notion of a momentary hit of dopamine.
Especially with toddlers, they get tired of the things they play with far too soon.

Which brings about the question-

What will happen to my kids toys which remain in the cupboards for years & years? Will they ever be passed down? When?
Will anyone want them by then?

The intention was to implement strategies and concepts for a circular toy merching system where games are returnable, exchangeable and reusable and eliminate the use of one-time playthings which later go unnoticed after their initial hype.

The product range touched upon include jigsaw puzzles, as the packaging has remained unchanged & monotonous for decades and it is a product that a child outgrows quite quickly due to the lack in variety with a single set.

Objective

Creating a cyclic sustainable business solution for toys that is environment friendly and instils ideas of sharing without compromising on a child’s need for fun, creativity & ownership.
